The Practice of Truth -2.

DEAR MEMBERS A VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR STUDENTS : -

At present, through out world one thing not seen is "TRUTH."

From top leaders in all sectors, politicians, to the present generation all over must aware the importance of the "TRUTH."

"AND PRACTICE THROUGH OUT THE LIFE....."

I.
The next level of truth is the practice of truth in our inner being. Gurudev said, "Scrutinise always your inner motives."

Normally, most of us have two reasons for doing something : -

One, a reason that sounds good to ourselves and others, and second, the real reason.

We have to scrutinize carefully our inner motives, recognise what our real motives are, and never claim to be doing anything for other than our real motivation.

II.
But there is a third level of truth that most of us find almost impossible to practice.

And that is truth at the level of yoga.

The scriptures can declare "That thou art," we can affirm, "I am Brahman," we can believe with our intellect that "All this is Brahman," but to come to grips with the truth of it is something else altogether.

It requires tremendous strength, tremendous clarity of intellect, tremendous devotion to the truth, tremendous will-power and, above all, the character built by the practice of truth with others and within ourselves.

To, All Members, Maharshi then read out from the Tamil version of 'Yoga Vasishta' the story of Deerga Tapasi who had two sons, Punya and Papa. After the death of the parents the younger one mourned the loss and the elder brother consoled him as follows : “Why do you mourn the loss of our parents? I shall tell you where they are; they are only within ourselves and are ourselves. For the life-current has passed through innumerable incarnations, births and deaths, pleasures and pains, etc., just as the water current in a river flows over rocks, pits, sands, elevations and depressions on its way, but still the current is unaffected. Again the pleasures and pains, births and deaths, are like undulations on the surface of seeming water in the mirage of the ego. The only reality is the Self from where the ego appears, and runs through thoughts which manifest themselves as the universe and in which the mothers and fathers, friends and relatives appear and disappear.
